The church of the former parish of Kilchrist or Tarradale, united with Urray in 1574. It was dedicated to Our Lord and known as Cill Chriosd, and is traditionally said to have been burnt in 1603. The church was re-roofed c. 1870 and is now the mausoleum of the MacKenzies of Ord.

The former parish church of Kilchrist or Tarradale stands immediately W of Gilchrist farmsteading. The roof and the E window date from the 19th century, when the church. Was extensively restored; it is now a mausoleum.
