Scope and Content This excerpt recounts the 1842 visit of Queen Victoria to Rosslyn Chapel, and notes that she “remained for some time in the chapel, admiring its beauties, and listening to its legends”. Helps further recounts the legend of the Prentice Pillar and the story of a wager between Robert the Bruce and William de Saint Clair. The account continues on to describe the journey of the Queen to Lasswade and Hawthornden. Sixteen leaves.
