Scope and Content Prepared for Britton’s RIBA lecture delivered on the 12 January 1846. Britton recounts his appreciation at being made an honorary member of the institute and presents his lecture as a response to the council’s invitation for members to “bring before the society papers, drawings, information, whereby new discoveries, new principles, new lights may be sought out”.
