Scope and Content Letter is pasted within AL 39/17. Burn describes the crypt to the east of the chapel and recounts that his excavations were unable to uncover any evidence of the barons of Rosslyn having been buried in a vault beneath the chapel, as described by Sir Walter Scott and Father Richard Augustine Hay.
