Scope and Content The images include a small number of photographs of buildings now demolished as well as Sayer’s photographs of extant works in Glasgow. The latter are represented in detail in the 35 mm colour slides of these buildings, with interior views of some of them. There are photographs of contemporary published images of engravings and architectural drawings. The black and white photographs and large slides are of illustrations in the publication Alexander ‘Greek’ Thomson (with Gavin Stamp, 1999).

Archive History The photographs and slides were taken as part of the exhibition 'Alexander ‘Greek’ Thomson – The Unknown Genius’ at the Lighthouse, Glasgow, 1999. They were given to RCAHMS by Mr Sayer.

System of Arrangement The material is grouped by building type, and within these groups the sub-groups represent individual buildings. Unidentified material is included in the miscellaneous and personal group.
