Note (30 August 2013)
A possible engine house is located at the W end of a jetty, and behind and below the rock stack with a First World War searchlight emplacement (see NH86NW 9.05). The remains comprise a concrete base with a raised plinth for a possible engine with metal fixings still visible. The E end of the concrete base is being undercut by wave action.

A project to characterise the quantity and quality of the Scottish resource of known surviving remains of the First World War. Carried out in partnership between Historic Scotland and RCAHMS.
