Scope and Content In the foreground are the remains of the military camp, batteries and associated buildings from WW1 + WW2 built the protect the Cromarty Firth. The features are now scheduled by Historic Environment Scotland. Below, extreme right, on the edge of the cliff, a WW1 searchlight battery engine house is still visible. Below Castle Craig Farm Cottages at the top of the photo is the site of a large water tank which supplied the camp for the North Sutor battery.
