Scope and Content In the foreground are the remains of the military camp, batteries and associated buildings from WW1 & WWII, built to protect the Cromarty Firth. Below, extreme right, on the edge of the cliff, a WW1 searchlight battery engine house is still visible. Below Castle Craig Farm Cottages to the right in the photo is the site of a large water tank which supplied the camp for the North Sutor battery. The square pond at the top is labelled as workings - a former gravel pit? Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
