There is a mound of burnt stones about 300 yds west of Ballarat House. (Area: HY 301 163)
RCAHMS 1946.
There is no trace of a burnt mound in the area indicated by the Commission. The only mound to be seen is at HY 3011 1634, close by a bend in the stream, but it contains no burnt material. It is 1.0m. high, amorphous, and has a modern fence running across its top.

On the left bank of a small burn lies a horseshoe shaped
mound covering an area of approximately 25 x 20 paces. [R2]
There is no trace of the burnt mound in the area stated by RC
(OR 1622). OS visit June 1966.
