Activities

Field Visit (7 May 2015)

The ice house has been incorporated into the current house which was built in the late 1970's. Only the roof access to the ice house is visible, the rest lies in the basement of the building and not seen. The owner and builder of the house claims that it was the first building in Scotland with triple glazing.

The location of the ice house is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch (Ross-shire 1881, sheet xxviii).

Visited by RCAHMS (AKK) 7 May 2015.
