Scope and Content This view shows the buildings at the tip of the Ness of Portnaculter from where the Meikle Ferry operated until the building of the bridge at Bonar. The C19 piers are out of picture at top right, but the Ferrykeeper's Cottage and WWII remains can be seen at top right, and in the centre of the view is the modern house which has been built on the site of the ice house. There is a large enclosure at bottom left. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
