Scope and Content This shows the N end of the Ness of Portnaculture and the pier for the S side of the Meikle ferry crossing of the Dornoch Firth. The pier is early 19th century and of coursed-rubble construction. To the left is the ferry keeper's cottage. Beside this is a WW2 accommodation hut, scheduled for demolition in 2008.There are another five in a group between the houses. There is an ice house beside the last house to the right.
