Glasgow, 121 Carstairs Street, Cotton Spinning Mills

This was built in 1884-9 for the Glasgow Cotton Spinners Co. Ltd. with Joseph Stott of Oldham as architect. There are two mills. The Carstairs Street mill is a five storey, eleven by twenty eight bay built in 1884-5. The second mill was in Swanston Street. Both have stair towers, are of red brick with hollow tile floors and cast iron columns. A tall circular section chimney is also in evidence.
