Scope and Content Drawings of earlier beetling shed of Avonbank Bleach and Dye Works, Larkhall Avonbank Bleach and Dye Works was founded in 1839 on the site of an earlier distillery. It soon became famous for its Scotch Holland Roller Blinds. In 1865 it passed to D C Miller who owned it until its demolition in the 1980s. This is the original beetling shed, erected in 1841 and rebuilt in 1868. It consists of a two-storeyed, hip-roofed block with a louvred upper floor and a lantern-belfry on the ridge.
