Scope and Content This is a general view of the centre of Inverness and focuses on the river. The Friar's Bridge which carries the A82 from east to west of the river without going through the centre of the town is at the bottom of the photo. It was opened in 1986. The next bridge is the Greig Street Suspension Bridge opened in 1881 and above that is the Ness Bridge, the main bridge across the river, which replaced the earlier suspension bridge in 1961.
