Scope and Content The Conon river separates the communities of Maryburgh at the top from Conon Bridge at the bottom. The three river crossings are a railway viaduct, built for the Inverness and Ross-hire Railway Co in 1862, a pipe-bridge (for pipes! Date unknown) and a road bridge for the A862. This 1969 road bridge replaced a previous bridge built by Thomas Telford in 1806-9. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
