Scope and Content The photo shows Am Bru, the tidal "gap" between Gometra and Ulva. These are previously heavily populated islands off the West coast of Mull. There are deserted settlements and field systems on either side of the gap and a dun in the middle right of the photo on Gometra. At bottom L is the rocky tidal island containing Dun Ban, thought to be the remains of a medieval castle belonging to the MacQuarrie family. Little Colonsay is the island in the distance.
