There are modern navigational lights located in this small hexagonal lighthouse-tower.

(Crinan: location cited as NR 789 944). At entrance to Crinan Canal: late 19th century. Tapering hexagonal cement-rendered tower with corbelled iron-railed gallery. Hexagonal wooden lantern with pyramidal roof and finial. External iron ladder. Tower painted with red band.

This lighthouse is clearly labelled on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Argyllshire 1900, sheet cxlixSW) and is clearly marked with a symbol on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1979) and on the OS 1:10000 raster map (ND).
