Saddell House [NAT]
OS (GIS) MasterMap, June 2010.
For (predecessor) Saddell Castle (NR 78906 31545), see NR73SE 2.
Saddell House appears to have been built in 1774 by Col Donald Campbell of Glensaddell, its erection probably coinciding with the abandonment of the nearby castle (NR73SE 2) as a principal family residence. Its exterior retains much of its original character and the building comprises a sunk basement, two main storeys and an attic. The asymmetrically-placed Doric entrance porch is probably a 19th-century addition.
RCAHMS 1971, visited July 1964.
No change.
Visited by OS (NKB) 15 March 1978.
