(Location cited as NX 643 803). Grennan Mill, founded 1506, rebuilt in the late 18th century and again in 1834. A small 2-storey rubble building, with three pairs of stones, driven by a 3ft 4 1/2 in wide by 14ft diameter (1.02 by 4.27m) 10-spoke all-iron high-breast wheel. There are drives from the main vertical shaft to a sack hoist and to a pulley which is probably for an oat bruiser. Preserved by owner.

Datestone records foundation of mill as 1506; the present building mostly rebuilt late 18th century and again in 1834, when much of the machinery and wheel was installed. 2-storey painted-rubble slate-roofed building with adjacent kiln (used now as store) 14' diameter cast-iron 10-spoke high breast wheel. The mill was last worked circa 1950, and most of the internal gearing is intact and operable. 3 pairs of millstones at mezzanine level. (Historic Scotland)
