NT56SW 11 5237 6181.

(NT 5235 6180) Cairn, Lammer Law. The OS triangulation station on the summit of Lammer Law stands on the perimeter of a round cairn which measures from 55ft to 60ft in diameter and 4ft in height. The stones of the cairn are exposed on all sides except the NE, where they are overgrown with grass; the centre is covered by a modern cairn.

RCAHMS MS, visited 1954

NT 5237 6181. A large round cairn as described by the RCAHMS. It measures 21.0m in diameter and has a maximum height of 2.2m.

Field Visit (31 May 1954)

The Trigonometrical Station on the summit of Lammer Law stands on the perimeter of a round cairn, presumably of Bronze Age date, which measures from 55 ft to 60 ft in diameter and stands at the present time to a maximum height of 4 ft. The stones of the cairn are exposed on all sides except the NE, where they are overgrown with grass, but the centre of the structure is covered by a modern cairn.
