Field Visit (10 October 1977)
Centred NR 928 349 The remains of a small probable depopulated settlement lie of a level shelf on a steep south-easterly hillslope. The footings of three buildings are evident.
NR 9277 3485 "A" is sub rectangular, 9.0m long from 4.4m to 5.6m wide with rounded corners and earth and stone walling 2.0m wide and 0.4m high. It has a sub-division towards the northern end and an entrance in the south-east corner.
NR 9290 3495 "B" similar to "A", 9.0m long and 3.8m wide on a site levelled into the hillslope. It has a subdivision but the entrance is not evident.
NR 9294 3498 "C" A small structure on a ledge 4.0m square with rough walling up to 0.6m high. There appears to be a collapsed wall on the west side.
There are faint traces of ridge and furrow around the buildings and short lengths of sinuous 0.3m high earth and stone banks around the edge of the area.
Surveyed at 1:10 000.

A pair of amorphous enclosures to the north of the burn are 3m long, 2m wide and 2m long, 1.5m wide respectively. To the south-west lies an apparent structure of "rickles" of stones in a rectangular shape. (A further enclosure to the south-west is shown but not described on the DOE plan).
