OS 1:10000 map (1973)
A: On top of Montgoldrum Hill there is a cairn, 50ft in diameter and 2 1/2ft high. At its base are five large earthfast stones; stone 'A' is 15, and 'B' is 20 ins in height. This cairn appears to be undisturbed.
F R Coles 1903
The remains of a cairn, visible as a vague, turf-covered swelling, 14.0m in diameter and 0.7m high, situated on a false crest. Around the SE arc are six rough blocks similar to the kerb stones around cairn 'B' (NO87NW 5); some of these are displaced, the others certainly form part of a kerb.
Surveyed at 1:2500.
