Summary Record (August 2013)

This site was drawn in 2013 by RCAHMS as part of its survey of the Milton Tam O' Shanter hone works (NS42SW 79.0) with which it was associated in the 20th century. These single-storey cottages were created by altering an existing masonry-built, two-compartment building (probably agricultural and linked to the grain mill as the masonry north elevation is 'blind' - it has no fenstration) to five, brick-fronted, two-roomed cottages around 1902. Two of the cottages still contain their two box bed recesses and one has its 'range' intact.

Site Management (3 July 1997)

Row of 5 single storey cottages in a group with the mill, built to house workers from the adjacent hone stoneworks. The original box beds may survive inside.
