NO15NE 15 centred on 152 580.

Centred at NO 152 580 is a settlement of four circular stone-walled huts (A - D) within a contemporary field system marked by stone clearance heaps, lynchets, and ruinous walls.

'A' and 'B' are similar, each measuring 8.5m between the centres of a wall spread to 2.0m, with an ill- defined entrance in the SSE.

'C' is 13.35m in diameter between the centres of a wall spread to 3.5m, with the entrance in the SSW.

'D' is 10.5m between the centres of an ill-defined wall, with the entrance in the S. There are traces of what may be an annexe c. 3.5m in diameter adjoining the outside of the wall in the W arc.

Surveyed at 1:10,000.

Field Visit (5 June 1987)

An unenclosed settlement of four hut-circles is situated on gently sloping heather moorland 700m SE of Knockali.

1. NO 1529 5807 The easterly hut-circle measures 8m N-S by 7m in diameter within a low, poorly-defined heather-covered bank which measures up to 1.5m in thickness and 0.2m in height. A slight depression in the bank on the S may indicate the position of the entrance.

2. NO 1527 5804 20m SW of (1) there is a hut-circle which measures 5.6m E-W by 5.9m in diameter within a boulder wall 2m thick and up to 0.3m high; the well-defined entrance is on the SSE.

3. NO 1523 5804 25m WSW of (2) there is a hut-circle which measures 6.7m in diameter within a boulder wall up to 1.9m thick and 0.3m high; the entrance is on the SE.

4. NO 1524 5809 The most northerly of the hut-circles (about 40m NNE of (3)) measures 10.5m in diameter within a boulder wall measuring up to 2.5m in thickness and 0.3m in height (above the interior). The wall is well-defined on the E half of the hut-circle but poorly defined on the W; the entrance is on the SSE.

RCAHMS 1990

Field Visit (25 November 2015)

Alder Archaeology was commissioned by John Clegg & Co, Chartered Surveyors and Forestry Agents to undertake a desk-based assessment and walkover survey on the site of a proposed forestry development at Drumfork, Blacklunans, near Blairgowrie, Perth and Kinross. The walkover (Alder site code (BW09) was done on 25 November 2015 in mainly dry, windy weather condition. The site had previously been surveyed by the RCAHMS in 1987-8 and only one additional site was recorded: a short stretch of drystone wall beside a rock outcrop, possibly part of a shelter.
