Scope and Content Drumturn Burn, hut-circles and field-system, Perth and Kinross Along the headwaters of the Drumturn Burn and its tributaries there are extensive remains of prehistoric settlement. The examples here are situated on heather moorland to the north-east of Hill of Easter Bleaton. A group of four hut-circles can be seen in the centre of this aerial photograph. These houses measured from 5.6m to 10.5 m in diameter and had entrances to the south or south-east. The occupants of these were farmers who cultivated the surrounding land. In north-east Perth, field-survey and aerial photography have identified extensive settlement remains in areas rarely occupied today. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
