Field Visit (20 February 1974)
The cist was about 1.0m square of dry-stone walling with two smaller stone supplementing the cover slab and a floor of fine gravel. It is now partly demolished ready to be filled in. Surveyed at 1/2500.

Publication Account (15 February 1974)
A short cist, containing a large quantity of cremated bones, a broken food vessel and 108 beads of a jet necklace, was uncovered during ploughing in the week 3 - 9 February 1974, on Easter Essendy farm, by G A Macaskill, farmer. It was excavated and its contents removed by Miss Lizbeth Thoms and Howard Murray, Dundee Museum.
