A short cist, containing a large quantity of cremated bones, a broken food vessel and 108 beads of a jet necklace, was uncovered during ploughing in the week 3 - 9 February 1974, on Easter Essendy farm, by G A Macaskill, farmer. It was excavated and its contents removed by Miss Lizbeth Thoms and Howard Murray, Dundee Museum.
