Fullwood or Hamilton Foundry, part of the Colvilles' Group of Iron and Steel Works was situated immediately W of the railway at the SE end of William Street (now demolished), off Dalziel Street.
The works made iron castings and was known as a 'Jobbing Foundry', a plan of the factory is published in the 'Technical Survey of the Colvilles' Companies' (undated).
The works has been demolished and the site is now occupied by Fullwood Park Industrial Estate.
The 1st edition of the OS 25-inch map (Lanarakshire, 1860-74), depicts an 'Iron Foundry (Iron)' at this site and all the subsequent 25-inch scale maps up to that dated 1935-36, show the works, the latter date showing the plant as a L-shaped in plan with a railway link, 'travelling crane' and annotated 'Iron Foundry'.
