NJ14SE 21.01 1894 4189 Tamdhu Distillery, Cottages

For Tamdhu Distillery Visiors Centre (formerly Knockando Station), see NJ14SE 46.

(Name cited as Tomdhu Distillery and location as NJ 189 418). Founded 1897. Most of this distillery is modern, but there are a few old buildings, and the distillery cottages (NJ14SE 21.01) appear to be original.

Tamdhu Distillery

This distillery was built in 1896-7 by the Tamhdu Distillrey Co. and was purchased by Highland Distlleries Co. Ltd. in 1899. It was closed between 1927 and 1947 and was extended to four stills in 1972, and then six in 1975 when it was rebuilt. It had Saladin Maltings by 1980.
