Archaeology Notes

Sheepford Boiler Works, founded c.1876 by Thomas Hudson. A large single-storey, corrugated-iron-clad steel workshop, with lower buildings. Interesting features are a gantry for suspending boiler shells over a rivetting machine, and a large hydraulic accumulator. The small brick office block has art nouveau features.

J R Hume 1976.
