The site of the parish church of Strathmartine, dedicated in 1249 to St. Martin, and demolished in 1799 when the parish was united with Mains. The burial place of the Strathmartine family occupied part of the site in 1859.

At least 14 Early Christian monuments have been found at Strathmartine, at least some of them coming from the churchyard, notably a Class 2 slab bearing 'serpents' and interlace attached to the wall of Craigmills House at NO 3803 3522.

There are some mid 17th century slabs in the small burial ground.

Visited by OS (JLD), 23 September 1957.

A J Warden 1880-5; J R Allen and J Anderson 1903.
