NT74NW 14 71 46.

A Neolithic, Cumbrian type, polished stone axe, 8 1/2 ins long by 2 1/2 ins across the cutting face, from Greenlaw (NT 7146) was donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) in 1883 by the Rev G Wilson. (Accession No: AF 212)

Further references to stones axes from Greenlaw are: Two stones axes 'from near Greenlaw' were exhibited in Glasgow in 1911, on loan from the Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh (Palace of History 1911); and a stone axe from Greenlaw was donated to the NMAS in 1977-8 by R C Notman, Edinburgh (NMAS 1978 [Donations] ).
