(NR 9072 2633) Hut Circle (NR)

OS 6" map, (1924).

This hut circle, 42ft in diameter, has no entrance visible.

J A Balfour 1910.

Hut circle, measuring overall 11.0m N-S by 10.0m E-W. The E edge is marked by a line of orthostats.

Information from MS DoE Arran Field Survey, 1976, 20 (16)

NR 9072 2633. A hut circle on a gentle W-facing slope at 250ft OD. It comprises a peat and stone bank up to 3.5m wide and 0.5 high, enclosing a level featureless interior 9.0m in overall diameter. The 'orthostats' along the E edge, where the bank is largely denuded, are internal retaining stones of 0.7m maximum height. There is a 2.0m wide entrance in the S side.

Surveyed at 1:10 000.
