(NO 0757 3305) Standing Stone (NR)

OS 6" map (1901)

A standing stone at Loak which stands 3'9" above ground, 10'3" round the base and, across its nearly flat top, 4'4" x 2'5". The sides are fairly vertical and rather smooth.

F R Coles 1911

The stone still stands.

Visited by OS (JH) August 1962

This stone appears to have suffered considerably from weathering since Coles' report. It is oriented NE-SW, and measures 1.3m high x 1.4m long x 0.5m thick. There are no markings on it.

Visited by OS (WDJ), 10 March 1969.
