(NO 0757 3305) Standing Stone (NR)

OS 6" map (1901)

A standing stone at Loak which stands 3'9" above ground, 10'3" round the base and, across its nearly flat top, 4'4" x 2'5". The sides are fairly vertical and rather smooth.

The stone still stands.

Visited by OS (JH) August 1962

This stone appears to have suffered considerably from weathering since Coles' report. It is oriented NE-SW, and measures 1.3m high x 1.4m long x 0.5m thick. There are no markings on it.

Field Visit (4 August 1942)
