There are no definite traces of a burnt mound in this area, but at HU 3976 1447 in a pasture field, burnt stones are frequently ploughed up, and can still be seen on the ground surface. However, there are insufficient remains to enable positive indentification. At this spot about 45 years ago, Mr R Mouat ploughed up a slab-lined cist with cap-stone, 2 feet by 1 foot deep in which, he says, was the skeleton of a child and 'blue clay'.

Surveyed at 1/2500.
