Roman Road, Stirling District
Most of the evidence for the course of the section of the Roman road from Camelon to Ardoch that lies within Stirling District has been summarised in the Inventory of Stirlingshire. Recent trial excavations in the vicinity of Stirling tends to confirm the line recorded in the 19th century; a possible road causeway, however, situated 90m W of Randolphsfield House has not been tested. North of Dunblane, in what was formerly Perthshire, the course of the road has been recorded for a distance of 1.6km between NS 793 044 and NS 806 054.
