Scope and Content Small black notebook, labelled on cover: ‘Notes on Jura’; also separate scrap of paper, bearing the signature ‘Yours truly, Hugh Miller’, covering visits in 1925, 1926, and 1928. P 1 Dated Jura 19th May 1925. Diagram of Corpach Cave, Corpach Bay, Jura. P 2-5 Notes and diagrams, also dated Jura 19th May 1925, describing motor boat trip from Port Askaig up the wext coast of Jura as far as Corpach Bay, to Corpach Cave. P 6 Blank P 7-9 Headed 6th June 1925 – Whirlpool of Corryvreckan (from Crinan), with note on Breckans Cave P 10-12 Dated July 2nd 1926, by boat from Crinan: visited Corpach Cave, Glen Gariod, P 13-15 Dated Thursday 3rd August 1928, describes visiting Corryvreckan, and various caves, finding a human skull in one, and remains of two individuals in another, on the hillside, one of whom had had his skull ‘cleft with a sword’
