Scope and Content Brian Hope-Taylor (1923-2001) was an archaeologist and artist who was especially noted for his work on Anglo-Saxon and early medieval sites in Scotland and England. He also taught in the archaeology department at the University of Cambridge during the 1960s and 1970s. Always keen to promote public interest in archaeology, Hope-Taylor had a successful television career as a broadcaster.
