Scope and Content Drawing showing plan of chapel and burial-ground known as Duisker 1, Islay, Argyll and Bute The remains of two chapels lie near a farmhouse at Duisker c.3.5km west of Ballygrant, Islay. This chapel, known as Duisker 1, stands in a burial-ground 700m south-east of the farmhouse. Very little is known about the chapel and its date is unknown. This drawing shows a plan of the remains of the chapel within its burial-ground. The entrance to the chapel is place in the centre of the east-south-east wall. The burial-ground is roughly triangular in shape and was entered at the south corner. The remains of the chapel stand no more than 0.45m high, while the burial-ground wall varies in height between 0.9m and 1.2m. Both were of drystone construction, but the walls of the chapel are now covered with turf. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
