Scope and Content Stables, Tarbat House, near Milton of Kildary, Highland Tarbat House was built in 1787 to plans drawn up by James McLeran and incorporated masonry from an earlier house on the site. Much of the interior has now been lost. The stables, north-west of the house, were built in the 18th century and probably extended in the 1800s. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
