Scope and Content Logan Water, Rainsike and Arresgill, Dumfries and Galloway Preserved in the Border Hills, there are extensive traces of prehistoric and more recent settlement remains. The light covering of snow in this aerial photograph reveals a multi-period palisaded settlement (centre) with rig-and-furrow cultivation in the far slopes. Remains such as these are vulnerable to destruction as a result of modern agriculture and afforestation. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
