This mansion house was built as Jardine Hall, and was demolished in 1964. Lockerbie developed round Lochwood Castle, a stronghold of the Johnstones of Lockerbie which was occupied by English troops in the mid 16th century and burnt by the Maxwells in the late 16th century; it later served as the town jail.
