Scope and Content A large room with a decorated plasterwork ceiling and a marble fireplace. The walls are hung with portraits and the furniture consists of sideboards, table and chairs. Although the room is large the extendable table has only four chairs round it. A bell to summon the servants is seen beside the fireplace. Poltalloch House is traditionally the seat of the Malcolm family. In the late 19th century it was occupied by Lord Malcolm of Poltalloch, who was elevated to the peerage in 1896. The house was partly demolished in 1957.
