Scope and Content A rough road sweeps round into a long avenue of tall trees which leads past a large Scottish baronial castle and rises into the distance. There is a large lawn before the house. The house has a central entrance tower with wings on either side connected to a tower house on the left. Seats surround the base of a tree in the middle of the lawn. The castle was begun in 1579 by Colin Campbell of Glen Lyon and was restored in the 17th century and enlarged in the 19th. The castle's famous ghost haunts the tower.
