(NN 5538 4603) Meggernie Castle (NR)

OS 6" map (1978)

A fortalice dating probably from the 16th century although possibly incorporating an older nucleus. A large mansion has been attached. The original building consists of an almost square tower five storeys in height with square corner-turrets corbelled out at the angles.

This building is of outstanding architectural interest.
