Scope and Content A symmetrical castle set in neat parkland backed by with mature trees and fronted by a large expanse of lawns cut in two by a gravel drive sweeping up to the castle front. The castle has a central high battlemented tower with bow front and wings with corner towers. There are climbing plants on the ground floor walls. There are many large sash windows with ornamental lintels above those on the first floor. Monzie Castle was a Campbell stronghold first built in 1634 but this was incorporated into an Adam style house in 1795 which was then refurbished by Sir Robert Lorimer in the early 20th century.
