Scope and Content A sloping lawn beside a drive leading up to a tall battlemented arched entrance, or porte-cochere, of a substantial mansion house with decorated stonework. Baronial style mansion with round headed windows with moulding above, massive square corner towers. Roof line consisting of battlements carried on projecting corbels. This massive building was erected in 1837-41 after designs by David Hamilton of Glasgow.
