Scope and Content This is the main dam at Loch Monar in Glen Strathfarrar. The dam is an unusual double curvature concrete arch dam which is one of the few examples of this type in Britain. Loch Monar feeds the northern part of this hydro-electric scheme, allowing water to flow 9km through underground tunnels to Deanie power station. To the left of the dam you can see the water intake.
